Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Spirit of Math, Ottawa Campuses. Spirit of Math is an after-school math school where high achieving students from Kindergarten to Grade 11 can encounter a challenging and unique curriculum that cultivates collaborative problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, interpersonal skills, and deeper mathematical comprehension.  Our students develop a life-long passion for learning.  It’s an exciting, growing, and stimulating community of people passionate about mathematics and mathematics education.

We have closed our Ottawa – Joan Arc Campus and all classes are now being run at the Ottawa – Kanata Campus.

Students can register for our ALL new Global Virtual Courses. Our Elite Online courses are similar to the Spirit of Math’s In-person full-year courses for high performing students. This is a fast-paced intensive program for students looking for a challenge. Classes have been specifically re-designed with a focus on online learning. Each grade is an entire year, consisting of 3 terms of 13 lessons each. Each lesson is 1.5 hours, once a weekWhen registering you can sign up for all 3 terms.

What our parents & students say!

  • Aparna Subramanian: "Our journey with Spirit of Math started a year ago, when Kashyap started grade 3. He was getting bored at school and wanted something challenging to do. There has been no looking back after that. Spirit of Math has never failed in challenging Kashyap and we couldn’t ask for more. A smiling staff always ready to help is a bonus indeed." Aparna Subramanian, parent of Kashyap, grade 4

  • Nicky Nguyen: "When your ten-year-old child can answer an equation like this -512+500+342-658+913-13 in seconds without a calculator, you know that Spirit of Math school is the right place for your child." Nicky Nguyen, parent of Taylor &Hayden, grades 2 & 7

  • Sudan Wang: "My kids started with Spirit of Math in grades 3 and 5 this year. They like their drills, the problem of the weeks and mental math. They have never been bored in class and are always quite excited to talk about their activities after class. The Campus Director and the teachers are very patient and helpful in terms of providing the feedback and advice to the parents. I think this is a wonderful math enrichment program." Sudan Wang, parent of Daniel & Darren, grades 3&5

  • Radu & Liana O.: “The curriculum is well ahead of the public school counterpart, and even though the classroom time is only one hour and a half per week, each concept is studied in much more depth than in school. Vital topics that are either missing or done very superficially in public school class rooms get proper attention at Spirit of Math… These are important building blocks for high school algebra, and Spirit of Math students get a very good mastery of these topics. The teachers are well-prepared and equipped with the passion and charisma to teach math effectively to a young audience. The variety of the program keeps the children engaged. Three years after our oldest children started Spirit of Math, they are as eager to continue as on their first day, and are at the same time very proud of their achievements. We are strongly recommending Spirit of Math to anyone who wants their children to achieve a strong background in math.” ~ Radu & Liana O., parents of Dariana & Andra, grades 2 & 6

  • Yung Jin and Soni Hou: “As parents of three students attending Spirit of Math, we are privileged to pass on our positive experiences. This will be our fourth year attending the SMS program. Because of this enhanced program, our three children excel in math and are one or two years ahead of the regular mathematics program at their day school. Our children are eager to attend the weekly instructional sessions and to complete their SMS homework with self-motivation. This is a testament to the intriguing and stimulating manner in which mathematical challenges are put forth by the SMS program, as well as the optimal level of assigned workload. We are very grateful to the highly qualified and dedicated teachers who make themselves available outside the weekly instructional periods, to help with individual questions from the students and parents alike. This program also offers math competitions for further encouragement and stimulation. We would like to see the SMS program expand in Ottawa as it would bring forth further synergic benefits and enrichment to all.” ~ Yung J. and Soni H., parents of Emily, Alexander, and Charlotte, grades 3, 5 & 9
