Bring A Buddy Night is always an excellent opportunity for our Spirit of Math students to share their favourite after-school math enrichment program with their like-minded peers. Your child’s buddy will have the opportunity to enjoy an in-class experience by trying our drills, working with others, solve brain-boggling questions, and the chance to ask lots of questions. Parents are also invited to join, by sitting in the back of the class to listen and learn with the students.
Bring A Buddy Night invitations are distributed in-class to each Spirit of Math student. Please be sure to ask your Spirit of Math Campus Director for the invitation so that your child doesn’t miss the opportunity to Bring A Buddy!
Bring a Buddy Night 2017 Schedule
WEEK 9: October 29 – November 4th | Grades 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10
WEEK 12: November 19th – November 25th | Grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 and 11
Spirit of Math classes are unique as they introduce ideas not normally explored in a regular class. Therefore, you will see students having to creatively solve complex problems, join in drills to master calculations, and work through advanced math concepts, having to understand what is happening; not just memorizing. Even though the program has been designed to challenge the high performing student, the classes are fun and engaging.
This program was created with students in Canadian classrooms, and has developed many of the top students in Canada. Not only are the students exceptional at math, but because of the depth of understanding, these students are often considered much more mature than others their age, and their thinking is often years ahead of other students. It is because of this that many of the classes in Canada are full, with waiting lists.
Our classes are unique because students attend their once-a-week class for 1.5 hours, and they have homework, tests and report cards. It is what we call an “after-school school”, and therefore the additional bonus is a very strong community of educators and parents who believe in the huge potential in students of all ages. It is incredible to watch how much the students can achieve.
