Q: None of the times/locations are convenient for me. Why don’t you have more times/locations available?

There has been a growing demand for more Spirit of Math classes across Canada and we are working hard to accommodate these requests. However, this cannot happen quickly if we are going to maintain our high standards of teaching. We are doing our best to provide classes for a greater number of students without watering down the program.

Q: Can my child’s teacher tutor him/her?
We have many senior students who are available to tutor children enrolled at Spirit of Math. These tutors are either enrolled in or have completed the senior grades at SMS and therefore have the special skills required to do so. Interested parents should contact the Registrar for more information. Spirit of Math teachers are not permitted to tutor their students.

Q: My child is going to be absent; can s/he attend a different class later in the week?
We appreciate that scheduling can be very difficult and thank parents and students for the extra effort they make to find an alternate time to attend their Spirit of Math class. Students are allowed to switch classes twice during the school year. Because students build relationships with their groups, when one person is absent from a group, or in a group with students they don’t know, the group process is greatly impeded, and so is the learning.
